Sheila over at One Persons Journey Through a World of Books is hosting this meme starting this week and I’m glad to see her carrying on the tradition! I invite you all to visit here there and check out the great blogs linking their posts.
Last week I read:
- Oishinbo, Volume 1 – Japanese Cuisine by Tetsu Kariya
- Oishinbo, Volume 2 – Sake by Tetsu Kariya
- Oishinbo, Volume 3 – Ramen and Gyoza by Tetsu Kariya
- Before I Fall (ARC) by Lauren Oliver
- The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
- Oishinbo, Volume 4 – Fish, Sushi and Sashimi by Tetsu Kariya
- Oishinbo, Volume 5 – Vegetables by Tetsu Kariya
- Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson
- Mrs Piggle-Wiggle by Betty MacDonald
Book(s) I’m in the process of reading:
- Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Books I plan to read this week:
- Oishinbo, Volume 6 – The Joy of Rice by Tetsu Kariya
- Oishinbo, Volume 7 – Izakaya: Pub Food by Tetsu Kariya
- The Commoner by John Burnham Schwartz
- Becoming Jane Eyre by Sheila Kohler
- True Blue by David Baldacci
Just a note on these Oishinbo manga’s I’ve been reading. Normally I would hesitate listing manga’s as being anything substantial..but these are of a different sort. They are hard to read at times, and very educational. And instead of taking me about an hour to get through – they can take upwards of 6-7 hours of reading.. which is very unusual for me. They are not light-hearted and sometimes not fun, but always interesting and if you are a manga fan or no.. I’d encourage you to check them out!

You read a lot of books! I love Gone With the Wind, hope you enjoy it. Have a great reading week!
@Alaine Thanks! I’m about halfway through now and really enjoying it. It’s not at all what I was expecting!
WOW..you must be a speed reader…any tips…I can sure use some
CMash
@Cheryl Hm. No tips that I can really pin down for you – I’ve been able to read quickly ever since I was a girl. My mom used to get so frustrated with me because I would need two trips to the library in a week most weeks! Thankfully, now I can drive there myself (and can check out as many books as I’d like each go!). When I read I get very focused and am able to ignore everything around me. Most people get a lot read I think if they can devote a few hours only to it every day. I’m lucky enough to get 4-5 hours out of each day (and sometimes more) just for reading.
Nice list of books!
Here’s mine this week: http://ruthiesbookreviews.blogspot.com/2010/02/its-monday-what-are-you-reading_08.html
Hope you have a great reading week!
I loved the movie for Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day so I’m totally going to have to read the book now that I know there is one.
And Becoming Jane Eyre? that title just grabs ahold of me. must be because Jane Eyre is one of my very favorite books.
Happy reading this week!
I am impressed with ow much you read last week and this week’s line-up is also quite full. Happy reading. I have been wanting to read Becoming Jane Eyre. My Monday: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/02/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-8.html

Great reading week. I have Becoming Jane Eyre on my stack. I’ve seen many reading Before I Fall.
Wow, you have read loads of books! I can’t wait to read Before I Fall!
I just got The Lightning Thief series for my son, but I will probably read them with him as we both enjoy the sharing time. I can’t wait to see the movie. Enjoy your reading week.
Maybe one of these days – out of curiosity – I’ll have to break down and “try” manga. Just not right now. lol
Have a great week of reading. Gone With the Wind…wow!
