It’s here! Today is the release of Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief in theaters. I don’t know about you, but this house is pretty excited (it’s all my nephew can talk about!)
I finally sat down about a week ago and took out the first book and made time to actually read it. I really dislike going into a theater and seeing a story first before reading it and since I own all five books… there really was no excuse. I loved it. It was fun, adventurous and ever since Disney’s Hercules I’ve been fascinated with anything concerning Greek mythology.
So now about the giveaway part! I have one extra copy of Rick Riordan’s The Last Olympian (the 5th book in the Percy Jackson series) to give away today in honor of it being Percy Jackson Day! Here’s the skinny on how to enter.
To enter you must leave a comment answering the following question: If you could be the child of any of the Greek gods, who would it be..and why?
You must answer the question to get an entry into the competition! This competition is open until Monday, February 15 at 9pm EST. I will announce the winner on Tuesday, February 16.
Good luck and happy weekend! And while you are here, feel free to visit this post to enter into my giveaway of Kate DiCamillo’s The Magician’s Elephant!
(US and Canada only)

Ohh, I’d like to be a child of Athena, being the cool nerd at school. I like knowledge, knowing things, studying things, and learning new things every day! Thanks for the giveaway!
I think the Goddess of Psyche because she is the goddess of Love and the Soul and that sounds pretty cool.
