This is sort of an In my Mailbox/Library Loot type of post. I pick up so many books each week though it’s going to be difficult to round them all up and remember..but I’m going to give it a try!
In my Mailbox!
- Homeland by R.A. Salvatore
Purchased this week!
- The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly
- The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan
- Saving Fish from Drowning by Amy Tan
- Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford
Library Loot!
- The Hatchet Series by Gary Paulson
- The Sword of the Lady by S.M. Stirling
- The Crimson Rooms by Katharine McMahon
- Beneath the Lion’s Gaze by Maaza Mengiste
- Alice I Have Been by Melanie Benjamin
- The Scourge of God by S.M. Stirling
- Audition by Barbara Walters
Again – quite the mix, but so much fun! This week my local bookclub is doing The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet so definitely be watching for a review on that one.
How about your week? Did you bring home anything interesting?

A friend got me an interlibrary loan on Riding with Reagan, a book written by the secret service agent who rode horses with Reagan during his presidency. It is an excellent book about Reagan, excellent insight into the Secret Service, and very interesting. (takes only a couple hours to read)
Warning – the last chapter about dealing with Alzheimer’s made me cry. He was so much like Grampa.
Well worth reading!
I have that one requested at the library! I was totally interested in it when I was talking to you about it, Auntie.
By the way, you and Dad both need to read this book on Glenn Gould’s piano. It’s so incredibly fascinating.
