Bloggiesta Update Day 2

New Feature – Cross-Bloggination (Seeking applicants)

As I update my blog and brainstorm ideas – discarding some and latching onto others, one of the things I wanted to focus on was somehow generating more guest posts (and writing more as well).  But how do I do that without A. Help and B. Having an interesting idea?

Then it hit me as I was updating my blogroll for favorite book sites.  Sometimes I gravitate toward certain book sites that read only books that are in my favorite genres.  Now, granted, those are widely diverse – but a few year ago I almost exclusively read only 2 or 3 genre’s and if it hadn’t been for my friend, Kari, I never would have started branching out.

So what is my idea?  What I’m looking for are two bloggers.  You must mainly (but not exclusively) focus on one of the following genres of books: Romance, Children’s Literature, Non-Fiction, Christian Literature.  Also I’d be willing to accept an exclusive YA blogger (no adult literature).  Does that mean you are disqualified if you occasionally post a review of something outside your genre? No.  I’m just looking for folks who immerse themselves in those genres since I do not.  In addition, you will need to read at least 5 books a month for this to work.

So if you’ve met one of those qualifications what do I want of you now?  Here’s what I would like to set up.  Once a month I’d like for the three of us to submit guest posts to the two other blogs.  What is the topic of the guest blog?  Our favorite book from the previous month.  Of course, you can submit your review link with it – the whole point is to get traffic moving through our sites.  But mainly I want you to talk about the book.  How did it affect you? Did it remind you of something in your past? Provoke your thoughts and get you inspired in your day to day life?  Did it give you nightmares?  Do you find yourself gushing about it?  It doesn’t even have to even be your favorite book to love, it could be your favorite book to shock people with, or your favorite book to talk about – good or bad.

Sound interesting? I hope so!  If you are interested in doing this with me please fill out the form.  I will make a decision in a week and post something after emailing the blog authors and getting confirmation back.

In a way – this will be a sort of affiliate thing.  I’ll promote your blog, and hopefully you’ll want to promote mine as well. Okay! Here’s the signup form:
