In this adventure, Artemis builds a cube with stolen fairy technology. It is stolen by Jon Spiro, a Chicago business man who shoots and kills Butler.Holly Short, Captain of the LEP heals Butler with magic.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this third installment of Artemis Fowl. More then a few times I found myself cackling and shaking my head at the quirky characters, the sharp, smart comebacks and the awesome generalizations made on what could otherwise be some scary characters.

This was definitely a worth-while addition to the series and the nice little cliff-hanger at the end has me ready to jump into the next book.

Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception (Artemis Fowl, #4)Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer

Buy from the Book Depository

Short Summary:

After his last run-in with the fairies, Artemis Fowl had his mind wiped of his memories of the world belowground.  Any goodness he had grudgingly learned is now gone, and the young genius has reverted to his criminal lifestyle.

My Review:

By far the best book of the series. This book had me laughing out loud more than a few times and I loved that Artemis finally had an adversary worthy of him (Opal just is that good). I was relieved not to have so much Juliet in this book as she was getting on my nerves a little bit, and even Holly seemed to soften up a bit more.

Fun, filled with action, fantastic scenes (the theft at the start of the book – that whole scene in the bank was perfect) and great characters.
