- I saw this title on NetGalley and decided it was worth a shot – the premise seemed interesting and I wanted to read a book that I’d have a hard time putting down.
I also recommend:
- Alice I Have Been by Melanie Benjamin
- The Murderer’s Daughters by Randy Susan Meyers
Summary from GoodReads:
As I sleep, my mind will erase everything I did today. I will wake up tomorrow as I did this morning. Thinking I’m still a child. Thinking I have a whole lifetime of choice ahead of me …’ Memories define us. So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep? Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love – all forgotten overnight. And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story. Welcome to Christine’s life.
My Review:
I’m so wishy-washy when it comes to reading thrillers/suspense stories. Sometimes when I think I like them, I read a few bad ones and back onto the shelves of the library they go – but then, inevitably, I’m sucked back in.
And so it is with Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson. Only this time the cycle stopped – because, y’all, this was a really good book. It was such understated horror that it had me turning my pages frantically, hoping and pleading along with the main character, Christine, for answers – any answers. I struggled with who to trust, right along side of her and then.. then when the answers began to come to light I felt panic and terror and found myself gripping my Kindle so hard it caused my fingers to cramp.
That’s a good thriller.
This book isn’t out yet – but it comes highly recommended by me if you intend to pre-order. Request it from your library, purchase, whatever you intend to do but definitely put this one on the list!

Great review. I read thrillers few and far between, but I like having some recs on tap.
If you are anything like me then, you are picky about them! This is more of a psychological thriller, which I actually prefer to blood and gore stuff.
