- I’ve actually read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo twice now.. and people keep telling me I need to read the rest of the series, because they are better.
I also recommend:
- Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood
- A Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer
Summary from GoodReads:
This novel not only puts the cap on the most eagerly read trilogy in years; the sequel to The Girl Who Played With Fire marks the completion of its Swedish author’s career; Stieg Larsson died at the age of fifty in 2004. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest is, however, too exciting and too adept to be read simply as a major author’s memorial. From its onset, with “avenging angel” protagonist Lisbeth Salander lying in intensive care, this fiction pulses forward.
My Review:
I’m a confused legal reader. I do love a good legal battle, but I am so over the John Grisham-type novels. As a result, I think I found that I enjoyed The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest the most out of all three books of the millennium trilogy.
I found the pacing, the information, the legal battle, the revenge – everything to be perfectly plotted and laid out and I loved every single moment of it. I was reading this book on the sofa in my college’s library, while sitting in my car waiting on a family member, at the table while eating various meals and finally finished it up at 2am on the same day I was to be starting college – not fun when you have an 8am class!
I love it when I get a sense of vindication, when I want to pump my fist and do a victory dance and that definitely happened with this finale. Is it worth reading through the hundreds of pages leading up to it? I’m still uncertain of that, days later – because, let’s face it, there are some really incredibly boring parts in this trilogy. Still, I feel as if I got something out of the investment and finally understand where all the hype is coming from.

I’ll be picking up this book soon, and I’m so glad you think it’s a great finish to the trilogy.
I LOVED this series, and also found myself turning the pages into the wee hours. Lisbeth is kick-ass, and one of my favorite female protagonists.
Haha! I perfectly understand that feeling because its similar to my thoughts … but I wished we could have more of Lisbeth after this.
