Dewey’s Read-A-Thon – Hours 1&2

I’m going to try my best to get through the Read-A-Thon this weekend, because I have a LOT of books to get read.  That said, I still have homework and school events.. so my updating may be a little sporatic!  First of all, my answers for hour #1!

1)Where are you reading from today?

My list of books includes:

  1. Practical Jean by Trevor Cole
  2. Child of Thunder by Mickey Zucker Reichert
  3. Cinder and Ella by Melissa Lemon
  4. Domestic Violets by Matthew Norman
  5. Becoming Marie Antoinette by Juliet Grey

2)Three random facts about me…

  1. This semester I’m playing Bach, Chopin and Mozart for my piano juries.
  2. I love mixing cottage cheese and applesauce together. Mmm.
  3. I randomly have dreams that people come and steal my books off my shelves (ack!).

3)How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?

  • Five!

4)Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?

  • I want to hit 1500 pages.  Let’s see if I can do it.

5)If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?

  • Take time to rest your eyes, listen to an audiobook while you go for a walk, make sure you hydrate!

For hour two we’re asked to post a picture representing a character we are reading about right now.. this picture represents Jean, who’s all bloody and entertain-y at the some time – from Practical Jean!

That’s a scary nightmare – I would go crazy if people stole books off my shelves. I have a hard enough time as it is lending my books out. Anyway happy reading and good luck hitting 1500 pages! :)
