  1. Holy cow!!! You did a whole lot of reading last week.

    Here is mine

  2. I kind of want to read Sandcastle Girls. I might have to request a review copy. I’ve only read one book by Bohjalian but I liked it and I think this is interesting as it is historical and has a link to his family history. I also want to read Rules of Civility. I have a copy of Wife22 for review. I’ve heard mixed things about it so I look forward to your take.

I’m sorry that Abdication was a disappointment (I read your review on Goodreads). The description is so promising, too. Sad when it lets us down!

    • I’ve read a few books by Bohjalian (Three I believe) and every single one turned my on my ear when I finished, so excited to see what he does with this one. Rules of Civility is amazing, and I’m halfway through Wife 22 and loving it so far – such an odd mishmash of everything, but it works!

  3. You have a great line up of books for this week. I am intrigued by Sandcastle girls because I loved several of this author’s other novels.

  4. Someone brought Eileen Goudge to my attention recently, and I’d love to try out a book of hers; just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

  5. You had a great week! Lots of books and bloggy stuff!

  6. I’m really looking forward to Rules of Civility. I’m glad you enjoyed it. :)

  7. A very busy week for you. Wife 22 is on my wishlist and The Replacement Wife and Goddess Interrupted are on my TBR mountain.
    Happy reading this week :)

    • Wife 22 was fantastic – I just finished it up tonight and loooooved it. It was everything I had hoped for (and honestly, everything I had wanted out of The Replacement Wife, but didn’t get) – still I hope you enjoy them!

  8. I’m really interested to see what you thought of Wife 22 – it seems like people have very different views on it. :)

Happy Reading! What are YOU reading @ the Brunette Librarian??

  9. I really want to read Rules of Civility. It looks really good. Have a great week!

  10. Hope you enjoy all your books this week – there are a few that I want to read on your list, so I can’t wait to see what you think.

  11. I had to take a break and read your Railsea review before I commented.

My favorite read last week was Swahili for the Broken Hearted by Peter Moore. Please come see what else I’m reading.

  12. Wife 22 and Sandcastle Girls are the two I am really interested in. Will await your reviews.

  13. I’ve been seeing a lot of Wife 22 – now I’m going to have to check it out.

I also participating in Armchair BEA – it was so much fun!!!

    Have a great week!

  14. Wow! You had a great week, plus the whole Armchair BEA event…I’ve been wanting to read Wife 22.

Enjoy your week! Here’s MY MONDAY MEMES POST

  15. I’m curious what you thought of the new Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I loved Shadow of the Wind but I’ve been a little disappointed in his books since then. My hopes are probably always too high. I love what I’ve read of Bohjalian’s work; I hope this one’s good! Enjoy your week!

    • I really loved the new one – but then I enjoyed Angel’s Game (although not as much as this newest – it’s more enjoyable I think because it deals with The Shadow of the Wind more).

  16. Wow,you must have a busy week, I would like to read the sandcastle girls and Cold light.
    Enjoy your week.

    The Norwegian girl

    • Have you read Fallen by Traci Slatton? It’s a pretty harsh book, but I love it so much and Cold Light lived up to it.

  17. Amazing lists! Will check out some of the books you named here..

    Have a great time!

  18. I put Wife 22 on my to-read list this week. I’m really looking forward to reading it so I hope you like it.

  19. Oh, my gosh! I really need to get some Chris Bohjalian on my shelves. I think I’m going to treat myself to a book spree soon and one or the other or a couple of those will make it to the house. The Orphan Master’s Son is definitely high up there for me as well. What a great, productive week for you!
