I love Jane Eyre and I agree with you about the last half of this book. I really missed the gothic mystery from the original and the obstacles between Gemma and Hugh were ridiculous. The writing style was lovely but I just didn’t like this as much as I’d hoped. I much prefer Jane Slayre-even with the vampires it felt more true to the original work :)
