I was like.. hurray I’m not the only one. You know who does a great job of making each book stand on its own? Brandon Sanderson. More authors should read his stuff, because he (when he talked at DragonCon two years ago) says that every book should have a viable ending.

Dust Girl wasn’t a book I immediately connected with, but once I got into it, it was hard to set down.

Also, I am sooo soo so with you on your rant, I don’t mind trilogies and sequels if each individual book is able to stand on it’s own. Like, cliffhangers are so boring at this point.
